OOTB Youth: will resume meeting on Wed, August 13 at Out of the Box Youth Center on Main Street in Hillsville. The Youth Center is open every Wednesday at 5:30 pm unless Carroll County Schools are closed. Bible study starts at 6pm, so come early and hang out a while!
Resurrection 2015 – The senior youth are making plans for Resurrection Jan 23rd-25th, 2015. We are inviting 6th – 8th grade to join us. Parents need to contact David or Tammy Payne via Facebook or email at firstname.lastname@example.org if their child is going so we can finalize our plans- reserve tickets, book lodging, & transportation. Chaperons are also needed!
September Family Camping at Camp Dickenson – We are planning a great weekend of fun and fellowship at Camp Dickenson, 9/12 through 9/14.You can camp on Friday or Saturday night or both nights. We have 10 30amp Camp Sites reserved for the weekend for RV’s, Popups and Tents or you can camp in the grass in your tent. We also have two cabins available for our use. Each cabin has 17 bunk beds. Parents will need to stay with their children in the cabins.
We will enjoy dinner together on Saturday night at the River Picnic Shelter and then on Sunday morning at 10:30am, we will worship by the river at Camp Dickenson, have a River Baptism and then eat lunch together at the River Picnic Shelter. Bring food to share for dinner on Saturday night and for lunch on Sunday.

If you can’t stay at the camp, then be sure to join us Sunday morning for worship at 10:30am followed by a River Baptism and picnic lunch.
Lay Ministry Training – There will be a satellite training event for Lay Ministry on Sat, 9/20 at Draper UMC. Any persons interested in certification as a Lay Speaker is encouraged to attend this training. More info here.
Nicaragua Mission Trip -Pray for our mission team as they travel home on Thursday, 8/7. Follow the team on the blog at http://ootbwcgoestonica.com/ and keep this group of awesome people in your prayers.
Recovery at Hillsville – This is a new ministry that is in the development process. If you are interested in serving on the Launch Team for this ministry or have any questions, please contact Pastor Ronnie at email@example.com. The group will begin meeting on Wednesday evenings from 7pm – 8pm starting August 13th for planning. Launch team members need to purchase a book for the ministry. The cost is $21.00. Bible 101 – A Bible study for the rest of us. The group is meeting on Sunday mornings at 10am in the Youth Center on Main St Hillsville.
Prayer Group – Meets each Friday evening at 5:30pm at OOTBWC to pray over the prayer requests that are turned in on Sunday morning and any other prayer needs that the group is aware of. If you are a Prayer Warrior and would like to get together with others each week and pray, then contact Misty Collins at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Crafters for Christ – is a group that meets regularly at OOTBWC and makes special gifts, cards and service projects for others. If you like doing crafts, knitting, crocheting or sewing and want to get together with this group, contact Cindy Brown at email@example.com or Bonny Webb at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Prayer Walk – join Brenda Harmon and others from our church and community as they walk through Hillsville and pray for our church, for our nation, for the lost, and many other prayer concerns. The group meets on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 10am to 11am at OOTBWC. The next prayer walk is 9/20/14 at 10am.
Volunteers are needed in all ministry areas at Out of the Box Worship Center. Check the Opportunities to Serve page on the website. Right now we especially need volunteers in Children’s Ministry and people to serve one Sunday a month on the Information Desk in the Lobby during the 2nd service and 3rd services.
Children’s Ministry Life Groups available on Sunday mornings:
- Nursery – Crib Nursery is located in the lobby of the worship center for babies. Nursery is available during all morning worship services for parent use.
- Toddler Nursery – “Peeps” is located upstairs and is for toddlers up to Kindergarten. Toddler Nursery is available at 10am & 11am.
- 3rd – 5th Grade – “Seeds of Faith” – led by Brenda Harmon & Misty Collins. This group meets in the kitchen area upstairs at Out Of The Box Worship Center at 10am. Contact: Brenda Harmon email@example.com.
- Children’s Church/Loft for K – 2nd Grade – meets during the 10am service and 11am service upstairs over the worship center. Contact Peggy Burcham at firstname.lastname@example.org or 276-733-6152.

CCMA Food Pantry operates every Monday and Thursday from 10 am until noon and volunteers are needed to take information, serve coffee to FP recipients, help carry boxes, and pray. The Food Pantry is in need of monetary and food donations. Suggested items are peanut butter, soup, spaghetti sauce, evaporated milk, ravioli and treat.
