Celebrating our Pastors and Staff – The Staff Parish Relations Committee invites you to join them in expressing appreciation to our pastors and staff during this Christmas season. You may participate by placing your contribution in an envelope that can be found in the lobby and putting it in the offering basket or the collection box in the lobby. Contributions should be in by Monday, 12/23.
Charter Members – You have the opportunity to become a charter member of Out of the Box Worship Center. There is a sheet in the lobby where you and your family can write down your name and contact information or contact Pastor Ronnie if you have any questions.
Volunteers are needed in all ministry areas at Out of the Box Worship Center. Check the Opportunities to Serve page on the website. Right now we especially need volunteers in Children’s Ministry for the “Peeps” for the 2nd service, and people to serve one Sunday a month on the Information Desk in the Lobby during the 2nd service and 3rd services.
Children’s Ministry Life Groups available on Sunday mornings:
- Nursery – Crib Nursery is located in the lobby of the worship center for babies. Nursery is available during all morning worship services for parent use.
- Toddler Nursery – “Peeps” is located upstairs and is for toddlers up to Kindergarten. Toddler Nursery is available at 10am.
- 3rd – 5th Grade – “Seeds of Faith” – led by Brenda Harmon. This group meets in the kitchen area upstairs at Out Of The Box Worship Center at 10am. Contact: Brenda Harmon firstname.lastname@example.org. Volunteers are needed to lead this group.
- Children’s Church/Loft for K – 2nd Grade – meets during the 10am service upstairs over the worship center. Contact Peggy Burcham at email@example.com or 276-733-6152. Volunteers are needed to help with this group.
*Children must be signed in and out at the table in the lobby. Volunteers are needed in all areas of the Children’s Ministry. Please contact Ronnie at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Wonderful Wednesdays at FUMC Hillsville on Fulcher St. The Children’s Music Curriculum is “Radical Retro Ride. Supper is at 5:30 PM. Children’s and youth activities are from 6 to 7 PM.
Wednesday Night Bible Study with Pastor Ronnie – 6:15pm at OOTBWC. Bring your bible and join in the discussion.
Youth: Meet at OOTBYC on Main Street – Center opens at 5:30pm and bible study starts at 6pm.
CCMA Food Pantry operates every Monday and Thursday from 10 am until noon and volunteers are needed to take information, serve coffee to FP recipients, help carry boxes, and pray. The Food Pantry is in need of monetary and food donations. If you need more info, please call the church office at 728-2434 or contact Pastor Pam Sutherland at email@example.com.
Relay for Life needs volunteers to help with fund raising for the American Cancer Society. Please contact Cindy Brown at firstname.lastname@example.org to get involved and be a part of the Relay for Life Team. You can purchase hand painted ornaments for $5 each, which will be hung on a Christmas Tree at OOTBWC in memory of or in honor of those who have/had cancer. Forms are located on the coffee bar in the lobby.
New Bible Study Coming in January – Bible 101 – A Bible study for the rest of us. Sunday mornings at 10am starting on 1/5/14. Watch the announcements for more information.
Celebration Service for the Charter of Out of the Box Worship Center – Sunday, 1/5/14 at 4pm at FUMC Hillsville. Bishop, Mary Virginia Taylor will be in attendance.
Mission Trip to El Salvador – Misty Collins is going on a mission trip Ahuachapan, El Salvador with 19 others from Lebanon Memorial United Methodist Church. The trip is January 11th – 18th, 2014. The team will be doing a medical clinic, construction, VBS for over 100 kids and home visitations. Misty asks for your prayers for the trip. If you would like to help financially, you can write a check payable to FUMC Hillsville and earmark the check for “Misty Collins Mission Trip to El Salvador”.
