June 10, 2013

Laura

We believe in the power of prayer at OOTBWC.

We believe in the power of community. And we believe in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Let’s pray together today. If you have a prayer request, leave it in the comments section below. Then, pray for the people who have posted above you, and reply to their post to let them know you’ve prayed. When you finish, click “share” to pass this prayer chain to your friends.

Whether you’re new here or a long-time member, we invite you to join us at fumcoutofthebox.com every Monday for prayer. If you need to speak with our pastor, contact him here.

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time He may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7, ESV).

I have prayed, Ashley, for you and your husband, for your situations, for your marriage in the face of these challenges. Be strong in the Lord and the power of His might. He will never leave you nor forsake you, and if you lack wisdom, ask God (James 1) and He will give it to you gladly.

Hey Ashley, just prayed for your marriage. For peace and comfort during the changes, and for the overwhelming sense that although life changes God is constant. <3

I have walked in your shoes and I am here to testify to you that HE IS ABLE to do exactly what you have asked. I prayed this exact prayer for years until the Lord sent the perfect person to open the flood gates for the Holy Spirit to come through and my son has never been the same since. Keep your faith and keep those prayers going up, I will pray with you believing that “Whatsoever we ask and believe, we have already received”. I believe!

Lost loved one in a cruel disgusting way and I am so full of anger and rage. I can’t help but blame God for not helping her . I don’t understand why he would allow her to be killed that way and then thrown away like trash . Then leave her 4 children behind . I feel broken … defeated . I am tired of hearing that there is a reason for everything . It is all part of God’s plan . Really ? Is our God that cruel ? I need something . I don’t know what . Her 2 sisters, mom and dad, and her children need prayer.

hi, I am so sorry for your loss. My heart hurts for you and I can’t imagine what this feels like. I am praying for you and your family and will continue to do so. There’s a scripture about not knowing what to pray for, and how the Spirit intercedes on our behalf with moanings that can’t be expressed in words. I’m no preacher or bible teacher, but I like to think that means that God’s heart hurts when our hearts hurt. Even when we don’t know what to pray for, the Spirit will pray for us in our sadness. I am so very sorry and I know there are no words to comfort you right now. You will be in my prayers.

I am praying for you and your family this evening and I assure you this was never Gods plan for your loved ones life. God is good and He never intended for anyone to die. As a pastor I would love to sit down with you if you should ever desire and try to help bring some understanding. However, know that I am praying for peace that passes all understanding. You can go to God with your questions, he says if you ask, seek, and knock, you will find Him. That is a promise. Let me know if there is ever a time you desire to sit down and talk. I am praying for you during this time. It is also okay to be angry, even Jesus got angry! However, as time passes I will continue to pray and ask that you will get peace and be used as a support to your family members as they search for answers. Blessings to you and yours as you grieve in Jesus Name.

I want you to know that I am praying for you and I want to tell you a little story that the Lord gave to me one day. I pray it will give you some comfort. Pastor Ronnie is right, God never intended for this to happen to your daughter because God created man in His image and He put them in Paradise. He was so good to them that He gave them everything they would ever need at their fingertips. Unfortunately, sin entered into the world and God’s plan for us was forever changed. If I leave you with nothing today to comfort you but this one thing, let it be that Satan, and what he does to people, is the person you should hate, not God. God loves you and He wants to comfort you and His justice is ALWAYS perfect, even when man’s justice fails. I don’t want to bore you with the loss and pain I have suffered in my life because when you are going through something like this, your own pain is all that you can possibly bear, but I can tell you that at one time in my life I used to pray daily that God would spare me from such a tragedy as yours, for I was sure that I could never be able to bear the pain of it. Then one day I was listening to a song about Mary, the mother of Jesus about her grief as she stood by helplessly watching her precious son be spat upon, beaten, whipped, ridiculed then nailed to a cross naked until He died. I wept for days as I realized I should never have asked God to spare me from something that even the Mother of our Savior had to endure. Your precious loved one is with Jesus now and she will never have to be afraid again, no one can ever hurt her again and she is in Paradise for all eternity where He intended for us all to be. The Lord tells us in His Word that the entire sum of this life is only a vapor and soon we will be reunited with all we love if we only TRUST and BELIEVE in Him. God loves you my dear friend. He wants to heal you of your pain and He will. You said you need something and you don’t know what, well I don’t know if you go to OOTBWC or not, but it is a place where you can find out how to put all the broken pieces back together again. Be angry my friend at Satan, Sin, Evil, you deserve to be angry about that, but allow Jesus to heal your broken heart as only He can do. Pastor Ronnie Collins and all the people at his church will do anything they can to help you heal. We are here for you. I am praying you will be blessed this day and see a glimpse of His love shining through the darkness that Satan brought into your world. God loves you so much that He sent His own Son to die for you, so that you could be healed and spend eternity with all your loved ones in a world where there is no more evil. Jesus is waiting to embrace you and give you peace that surpasses all understanding.
