2013 5 X 5 New Testament Challenge – The reading plan has already started, but, it’s not too late to join in! The group is currently reading Acts. Pastor Ronnie invites you to join him in reading through the New Testament in 2013. It will only take 5 minutes a day for 5 days a week. Wednesday Night Bible Study with Pastor Ronnie – 6:15pm at OOTBWC. The group is discussing the weekly reading that follows the 2013 5 x 5 Reading Challenge. Bring your bible and join in the discussion.
Monday Morning Bible Study meets at 9:30am at OOTBYC. They have just started a new study:
“Culture Shock”, Responding to Today’s Most Controversial Issues. Jackie & Terri Dunevant will be leading this is a 12 part series. When Carroll County School System is closed or delayed the study will be cancelled for that week.
BeLoved is an event that will be held at FUMC Hillsville on Fulcher St on Sat 5/4 for girls in 6th, 7th & 8th grade. If you would like to be part of this event, contact Misty Collins at email@example.com.
Red Cross Blood Drive will be held at FUMC Hillsville on Fulcher St on Sat, 2/2 from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.
Crafters for Christ ~ Knit/Crochet/Sewing Ministry – If you can knit, crochet or sew (or you would like to learn) and want to get together and make service projects for others, contact Beth Brooke (336) 953-1293 or firstname.lastname@example.org. The group will be making cards on Sat, 2/2 at 10am at OOTBWC and then deliver the cards to Wheatland on Sat, 2/9 and the college students’ cards will be placed in their care packages.
Congregational Care Meeting will be held on Sunday, 2/3 immediately following the 11am service at FUMC Hillsville on Fulcher St. All Congregational care leaders are requested to attend. Lunch will be provided.
Financial Peace University is a 9 week biblically based curriculum that teaches people how to handle money God’s ways. The class will be taught by Cort Godwin on Sundays at 4pm at OOTBWC starting with a preview class on 2/3/13 and the first class beginning on 2/17/13. Contact Cort Godwin at 276-733-4761.
UMW – The UMW’s first project in 2013 will be Valentine “goodie boxes” for members, or children of members, who are college students or military within four years of high school graduation. Please turn in names and addresses of anyone who needs to receive a “goodie box” to the church office by February 3rd. You may be a part of this “loving” ministry by making a contribution… snack foods, fast food coupons, highlighters, Chap Stick, or other small items. No canned drinks or other heavy items, please. You may place your donations in the designated RED BOX in the church library at FUMC Hillsville by Wed, 2/6 Don’t have time to shop?… monetary donations to cover shipping costs are welcome! Checks should be made to FUMC UMW and turned in to the church office at FUMC Hillsville.
Friends Unite 4A Miracle cure is helping to raise money for Relay for Life. Please join us Sat, 2/9 at OOTBWC for the Team Take Off Party. There will be door prizes, games, food and fellowship. Confirmation Group for youth age 12 will meet each Sunday from 4pm-6pm through 3/10 in the Fulcher St. “Tween Room”. Youth will learn about our faith, and the United Methodist Church through fun activities, crafts, and games. Children’s Ministry Needs Volunteers – We are currently offering seven ministry areas each Sunday morning for the children. Please see Patti Holderfield or call 276-236-7812 if you are available to be part of any of the rotations as aides.
