Colossians 1:6 NLT
This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives, just as it changed your lives from the day you first heard and understood the truth about God’s wonderful grace.
If you have been a part of Out of the Box Worship Center in any way (attendance, facebook, blog, twitter) over the past four weeks you know that we have looked at the lives of people whom God has used to change the world. We have only just begun, we have looked at the lives of John Wesley, the founder of the great Methodist Movement. Wesley has changed as many lives in his death as in his life and probably millions more. The life and commitment John Wesley lived has greatly impacted my own life and commitment.
When I look at the impact John Wesley has had on this world it makes me want to do that and more, and this is just what it should do. We as Christians should encourage each other to be better, to do more, to have a greater impact.
The Good News, the Gospel, Changes Lives.
I am so tired of a weak Christianity. I am tired of hearing Christians claim the name of Christ yet moan and groan of defeated lives. Does Christianity work? Does Christ work? Does being a Christian make any difference at all in our lives?
I believe it does! I am living proof that it makes a difference!
I look all around me at people who name the name of Jesus as Lord and Savior and Jesus isn’t Lord at all. Just look at Facebook, twitter, blogs, and all forms of Social Media and you will quickly see the people who name the name of Christ living out a totally different lifestyle. There was a time when it was more difficult to know if a person really believe what they proclaimed. BSM – Before Social Media.
I am not judging those in the world but I am calling those who name the name of Christ to live what you claim. If you name the name of Christ then read the Book. This book, the Bible is now available in so many different formats. You can simply read it in hundreds of translations, you can read it from the printed page, from the interned, on your phone, on the ipad, the Kindle, etc, etc, etc. You can listen to it on your ipod, on CD, and even watch it dramatized on DVD.
I love it when Christians come to me for advice and to clarify what the scripture says about a particular situation. There is great wisdom and strength to be found when we come together in Christian Fellowship and conversation. However, it breaks my heart when Christians come to me wanting to justify a lifestyle choice or any decision they have made contrary to God’s teaching in the Bible. If we can’t trust the Bible when it comes to telling us that God’s ways of living are best then how can we possibly trust that God has eternal security waiting for us. If we can’t trust God with 10 percent of the money He has given us in the first place, can we really, honestly, believe that He can save us? I don’t believe so. I just believe that real faith changes lives.
First of all, real faith changes us on the outside and then it changes us on the inside, and then it changes the world.
How has your faith in Jesus Christ changed you?
